Ideally you will have 6+ months experience, although candidates with lesser experience will be considered.

Senior Civil Engineer

Following a period of sustained growth we are seeking to recruit an ambitious Senior Civil Engineer to work from our offices in Gloucester and Henley on Thames. The candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Design of drainage, service, road infrastructure and earthworks on a broad range of projects that include industrial, commercial, residential, retail, health and leisure developments.
  • Preparation of associated drawings from concept stage through to construction.
  • Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements and Service Strategy Reports as well as design of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems from concept stage through to implementation.
  • Design and detailing of works associated with highway (s.278, s.38, etc.) and drainage agreements (s.104, s.185, etc) as well as other relevant consents / permits and negotiation of technical approvals.
  • Site audits and feasibility assessments.
  • Growing civil engineering expertise as well as  maintaining and developing Client relationships.
  • Management, leadership, support and coaching of other team members in undertaking technical work and report writing.

 

Key Skills & Experiences

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a civil engineering role and should hold a relevant degree.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartered Status.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team in various disciplines and types of project.
  • High standard of written and oral communication
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience writing reports such as Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements, etc.
  • Experience preparing drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Experience carrying out design of foul and surface water drainage systems using MicroDrainage.
  • Experience carrying out vehicle swept path assessments using AutoTrack.
  • Experience using ground modelling software for the design of horizontal / vertical alignment, earthworks, etc.
  • Experience of negotiations with highway authorities, drainage authorities and Environment Agency.
  • Knowledge of national guidance such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations, etc.
  • Effective project and client management skills

Structural AutoCAD/Revit Technician - Exeter, Gloucester, Henley & London

We are looking for AutoCAD / Revit Technicians to join our experienced and expanding Structures teams in our Exeter, Gloucester, Henley and London offices.

 

The successful candidates should be team players with good interpersonal and communication skills and a proactive approach to their work. You will be working on projects that will include new build and refurbishment in the Residential, Education, Commercial and Industrial sectors.  Candidates must be flexible, motivated and enthusiastic.

Experience in the preparation of structural drawings and BIM Models with a sound understanding of engineering principles is required. Experience of Revit in a collaborative environment to BIM Level 2 and a good all-round knowledge of AutoCAD is essential.

Candidates will work under the supervision of a Senior Structural Engineer and CAD manager, and will be required to work in close harmony with external consultants.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Gloucester

Due to recent growth in our business and a number of recent large project wins, we now need an ambitious Infrastructure Engineer to work in our Gloucester office, to lead a growing Civils Team.

The role:

You will be key in promoting and developing client relationships; as well as directing resources to ensure your design group delivers the highest standards of design to our clients, within cost and time constraints. Your role will involve supporting a range of projects including multidisciplinary housing regeneration projects.

Key skills and experiences:

The ideal candidate will have a BEng or MEng Civil / Structural Engineering or Engineering Design and be a member of the relevant body such as the ICE.  You may be a Chartered Engineer or working towards completing chartership.  We are keen to support professional development and will encourage you to achieve chartered status.   

You will need a breadth of experience across all sectors and ideally you will have experience of multi-disciplinary highways & drainage designs and specifications gained within a Civil Engineering consultancy as well as awareness and experience of designing under Section 38,278 and 104 agreements.  You should be capable of liaising with clients and local authorities to obtain approvals and have good communication skills in both written and verbal forms, to acheive project and client deadlines.

This role requires site visits and design team meetings. A driving license is essential.  This is a full-time role and salary will be dependent upon experience.

Transport Planner position - Henley office

Following a period of sustained growth we are seeking to recruit an ambitious Transport Planner to work from our offices in Henley on Thames although exceptional candidates may be considered for roles in our Gloucester / London / Exeter offices. The Candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Project management of traffic & transport aspects of multi-disciplined projects including preparation of fee proposals, management of programme and budgets, liaison with Clients and other relevant members of the project team.

  • Growing traffic and transport expertise as well as  maintaining and developing Client relationships.

  • Management, leadership, support and coaching of other team members in undertaking technical work and report writing.

  • Preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Transport Statements.

  • Site audit and conceptual access feasibility assessments.

  • Preliminary and detailed design for highways, traffic and public realm schemes.

  • Traffic assessments and design of traffic improvement schemes & traffic calming.

Structural Engineer position – Exeter and Henley offices

Our Exeter and Henley offices are each recruiting for a Structural Engineer.

Ideally you will have 5+ year’s experience and be chartered, or working towards it, although exceptional candidates with lesser experience could be considered. 

A knowledge of steel, concrete, timber and load bearing masonry structures is essential and the ability to design to British Standards or Eurocodes.  Experience with computer software is desirable – notably TEKLA Structural Designer, Robot and TEDDS; and you will need to be an excellent communicator with a positive working attitude.
